If your aim is to start a healthy eating journey, then what better way to do it than with your spouse? They say couples who eat together, stay together.
Enjoying meals, whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner with a special person changes the whole equation. You’d be more committed to the plan once you have support from a loved one.
You can start by listing down groceries that you both like to eat, while being calorie-conscious. On weekdays, start your day with a well-balanced and healthy breakfast. Wake up 20 minutes earlier to prepare your favorite breakfast meal together. That way, more effort is put into it, so, it tastes better!
During the day, when you’re at work, thanks to technology, you can also share photos of the healthy choices you made when you’re apart.
Another important point when beginning a healthy journey is to incorporate exercise into your daily activities. Choose a sport that you both enjoy doing. For example, enroll in a boot camp class or join a basketball team or simply, take a walk in the park (take advantage of the good weather while it lasts). This will allow you to spend some quality time together and challenge each other, while being physically active.
